This is what happens when the image is opened as a file in an editor. It generally points to incorrectly set MIME types on the server it is coming from. Depending on your browser try Right-clicking the image and choosing Save image as, or similar to get a local copy you can view and play with. You could also email the webmaster at the site and advise him of what is happening so they can fix it if it is a server problem as I suspect.
