Thanks for the responses thus far. Here is some more information:
I live in Zanesville, Ohio, which is located an hour east of
Columbus.
Part of my work is to scan photographs for newsletters and
brochures, usually for people who *have* scanners and Photoshop.
I do the scanning because the customers in many cases do not know
how to use their equipment. (I don't know if they read the
manuals!)
Two of our customers in particular use Photoshop but I have to go
in to fix their scans every time (re-setting highlights &
shadows, simplifying the clipping paths, etc.). This is not
something I dislike (I get paid the same for doing this as for
stuffing envelopes), but it seems that it is a shame for someone
to own Photoshop and mess things up, too.
So the original idea was for me to offer a three part course,
meeting for two hours or so. One of the local schools here
charges $10 per hour to rent out space to the public as a means
of raising money, so I have thought of asking if they have one of
those lecterns with the built-in computer which will appear on a
big screen for everyone to watch. I have attended two Photoshop
workshops, and both of them were held this way.
My wife says that every student should have a computer to work
on, and that there is no where in town offering such facilities.
I appreciate the responses thus far & hope more are
forthcoming --
Seth
