Building a Client Base

Hi Listmembers:

I sent this post to the HWG Business List and thought I'd run it by you all
as well because this list is very active and many of you are business people
doing this for a living (or trying). I am hoping you can give me some
pointers.

I am a 16 year old newcomer to web design and have been pretty busy the last
few months working websites for family and friends who want personal and/or
business websites.

Now, I am wondering how to branch out into the "world" market and start
picking up clients and securing business.

Can you offer any pointers on how to effectively secure work and build a
clientele?

Please bear in mind that I do not own a vehicle nor do I have an advertising
budget ... actually, any budget at all right now. <smile>
