Hi Chris:
    I know you want to do it in Photoshop, but if you have 3D Studio, there
is a truly wonderful plugin available that does fractal lightning. I used it
to do most of the stuff at our site (URL below). I'll mail you a copy if you
want one. It will also let you do the "lightning glow thing" on text, etc.,
which would probably work well at the pages you mentioned (if you have 3DS
that is...).
    If you don't have 3DS, if you pester me enough, I might get round to
doing you a logo. Maybe...
