I could be wrong (no time right now to check it), but try renaming the extension on the icon file from .ICO to .BMP You should then be able to open it in PSP and save as GIF. Of course, you always just do a screen capture in the directory the icon is in (make sure you set it to large icon view). If you really want to have fun, get a copy of Microangelo which lets you edit icons up to any size (or maybe it's just 48x48?). That way you can copy the images to the clipboard. That includes the large hi-colour icons that come with the Plus! pack, should you have it.
