Re: UPDATE: Crop to selectionby "Cindy Stanley" <stanleysupport(at)prodigy.net> |

Thanks to those who responded about my thin crop lines that were showing up on a bg while it was tiling. As I said before, the crop lines showed up very badly viewing in 256 colors, but not as bad in higher color. I was working with a bg that contained 3 layers, in order to make the *cutout effect* on the border. I was saving as a jpeg, for it was textured bg. I started out making the entire bg the width of my preference (1600 pixels), then continued on with making the border with a *fleuron* typeface and the *cutout effect* on the fleuron, added a drop shadow, then had to crop it, for the drop shadow does not go evenly to the top nor bottom. Every which way I tried to crop it, feather 0, antialias not checked (in PSP5), I kept getting the thin horizontal crop line when the bg tiled ... UNTIL I decided to make just the *bordered* part first, did my layers, cut out effect, drop shadow, BUT instead of cropping, I made a duplicate of the bordered section, cropped out a small section of the drop shadow, pasted it back into the top and bottom part (where the shadow effect does not tile completely) of the original bordered image ... THEN made the width of the bg in a new image, and copied and pasted the bordered part onto the width of the bg. NO MORE CROP LINES when the bg tiles while viewing in 256 colors (or higher color for that matter ) :-) It must have had something to do with me working in layers and then trying to crop the entire bg. -- Cindy K.
