Heck no! #5 has the sharpest jaggies in the bunch. Look at the left 
rising leg of the first A and compare it to #2. Yes, #2 looks 
'softer', but that's because the jaggies are smoothed out. What 
software are you using to create this text? 

Yes, as Chris said it does appear that you're blurring to lose the
jaggies, far better and easier to just plain start with dithering
enabled.
