Zuhair,

One of the common mistakes made by self-styled graphic designers is to
begin designing right on the computer. The net result is that, though you
may come up with a finely detailed idea, for each idea you consider,
because of the nature of the computer in requiring details for every aspect
of a design, you tend to consider fewer ideas.

The solution to this is to begin designing the the conventional
manner--with pencil and paper, where little detail is required, as you can
work (and should work) quite small, and as a result, more ideas can be
explored in a given amount of time.

It is for this part of the process, the pencil and paper part, that drawing
skills can work to great advantage. I would urge you to not dismiss the
conventional tools, and the requisite skills, simply because your final
creation will be implemented on a computer.
