I was thinking of an earlier version when I specified sslecting the string
of text, the menu option, and then clicking on the path. As JRK pointed out
(at least with 6.0, but quite probably with later versions as well), BOTH
objects -- string of text AND path -- must be selected before choosing Fit
Text to Path from the Text menu. Then the Fit Text to Path roll-up will be
fully functional.
