about this image quality stuff. if you are looking for high quality
images on 256 color machines, then the idea of optimizingt the pallete
in PSP4 is great, but if you do, just save as a gif. jpg compression
degrades the image every time you open and save it no matter what
compression you do. gifs never have this problem, but are restricted to
256 colors. and bitmaps are the best, but too damn big. i recommend gifs
with optimized palettes. when you scan your pictures, unless your
looking to increase the size, a standard 100dpi scan is more than
sufficient cuz most screens display at 72 or 96 dpi. it just makes the
picture bigger, thats all. good luck! - Cyanide_7
