Thanks so much for all the valuable information
everyone sent to me. I thought I would share what
transpired in case anyone else needs to do this in the
near future.
One of the main differences between buying type from
Adobe or Eyewire seemed to be that Adobe sold the font
family but only in one platform of your choice
(Windows or Mac), and Eyewire sold it as one typeface
but it came in both platforms (Mac and Windows). So
you would want what's more important to you. For me,
I wanted more typefaces because I don't have access to
a Mac.
It took more than a hour to download because I have a
slow connection at home, and it was at peak time. You
have to be careful and make sure you download all the
files. In this case, there were two items I needed to
download. (Next time, I will do my download to a
small or empty file folder. I placed the items in a
larger folder which made it harder to find.)
After the download, I did try to install through the
control panel / fonts, and it appeared like it was
working because I received and followed the wizard
screens. However, the new typeface didn't show up in
my applications. Then I noticed that the download had
produced a .txt file called something like "install
instructions." It gave these directions for a PC.
1. Choose the Start button > Programs > Adobe > Adobe
Type Manager
2. Click the Fonts tab
3. Select Browse for Fonts
4. Navigate to the folder where the downloaded fonts
are
5. Ctrl click to select more than one font to install
6. Click the Add button to start installation
7. Exit the Adobe Type Manager
(The fonts do appear now in all my graphical / web
related applications.)
If you want to see what the Mona Lisa Recut font looks
like saved as a .gif image, see the link below. (The
site itself is not finished, and this is only a
temporary address link.)

Thanks again for everyone's help. The more ideas the
better because what works in one case doesn't always
work with your own hardware / software setup.
Regards,
Susan V.
