I do not have PSP beta 5, so won't comment on it, but as for plug-ins...
I do have both PSP 4.14 and Photoshop 4.01, and found that if you install
Photoshop plugins, you can access them in PSP 4.14 (and 4.12, am not sure
about earlier or later versions).
