How are you getting your images from Illustrator to Photoshop? I have no
problem with blurry text when I export an image from Illustrator 8 to
Photoshop 5.02. In the export dialog (File>Export) within Illustrator you
get to choose your final bitmap resolution as well as if you want it
anti-aliased or not. I always edit raster images at 300dpi even if they
are for the Web. Illustrator 8 also exports to Photoshop with layers
intact now. With the Photoshop 4.01/Illustrator 7.01 combo I used to do
the opposite with equally good results. I mean I imported Illustrator
files from within Photoshop and also got to set resolution and
anti-aliasing at the import stage. I tend to stick to Photoshop more and
more to create text since it is now editable but for some things, nothing
will replace a good vector program.

I agree. Anything below 8 pt is almost unreadable on my 15" at 1024x768=
 res.

Yes, it does a great job actually but for text images I still get better
results exporting to Gif right from Illustrator... and I don't have to
fight the interface so much ;-)

Anyway, that was my 2 cents... HTH!
