This solution may work, but only to a small degree. Give your image with
transparent text to any expert graphics person with meager skills using
photoshop, PSP and the like, and I'm sure that within an hour he/she can
have your text wiped out without a trace of it having ever been there.
I believe that water-marking is a better solution to this still, because in
the end, the hardest thing to do is to actually seek out and find the
people who are stealing your copyrighted work; once this is done, if you
have your watermark in the image, you will have no problem with proving the
images are yours, etc.
