Nobody would argue for a minute that in order for you to keep your client
happy, you should do whatever he/she wishes having advised him/her in areas
that you believe him/her to be either misguided or under a false impression
of some sort as to what constitutes good web design. Irrespective of what
anyone says, if you are both convinced that what you are about to do, is
*right* for the client, then so be it.

Having said that, I have to question your statement that "the time of the
Web for everyone is over". True, there are many who apparently could care
less about who can and who cannot access and comfortably view their sites
and if they're happy with that, then more power to them. I'm sorry but to
me, it smacks of arrogance. I acknowledge that with certain designs, it is
impossible to make it all things to all people and all things to all
browsers, but I also believe that there is a certain amount of laziness
involved too.

Personally, if I am running a business, my aim is to make a profit which
means that I need to sell product and if I were to own a store in a strip
mall, I sure as hell wouldn't be sticking a large rock in the doorway to
trip up prospective customers and I wouldn't spray the store each morning
with skunk oil either.

I agree, that there are "some" stores/companies that are not interested in
advertising to the great unwashed because they *know* that they can't
afford their product, but hey! ya know, one day they *might* be able too
and I can assure you that if they are treated like second class citizens
the first time they enter, they're gonna remember the name and broadcast
far and wide about what a lousy company/store it is. Dirt sticks :)

A web site is nooooooooooooo different. Alienate folks, and they remember.
Treat them kindly and be polite about it and even if they can't afford the
product, they'll remember the name and speak nicely about it to others.

If disabling a users right click makes everyone feel better, go for it, but
I think it's very foolish and if it's purpose is to stop folks from
stealing graphics, it's a complete and total waste of time.

I agree with Stephane, I think he makes a great deal of sense.
