tried altavista.com? there is am image search on that which is quite
good.... and why does it have to be free? i mean.... alot of free images are
not realy that good, and there isnt a wide selection. one of the main
reasons why you pay for them is because its good quality, and you are buying
the copywrite so you can do whatever you want with it. so doing that your
getting rid of the copywrite problem.

Sorry to post such a strange request but I've been going crazy (okay,
craziER, grin) searching for a *public domain* (that spells free to you and
me) photo of a chupah, a Jewish Wedding canopy.  Yes, I've searched Army
sites and yes I've done web searches.  But I've got to be careful (working
for the US Government) not to use anything that would have to be paid for or
is copyrighted.  Can anyone steer me to such a photo or where I could find
it?  Thanks.
