Is the image a single color?  If so, there may be a few ways around the
problem, but then again, maybe not :)  There are programs available that
will convert bitmaps to vector graphics (Vector graphics should render
correctly no matter what dpi they are using, up to about poster size 
in most cases)

One such program will actually let you convert your graphics directly to
TrueType fonts (Then you can import your logo into rendering programs that
handle fonts, view it at different sizes and resolutions, etc)  It is
called "ScanFont" and runs between 200-230 US dollars, depending on where
you find it.  It has a sister program called "TypeTool" that lets you
create fonts, but I don't think that one will import bitmapped images for
the characters.  I haven't actually broken down and bought the thing yet
(The shareware version looks neat, but won't let you save anything.) but I
keep thinking about it :)
