I have a new scanner and the software that came with it is Adobe PhotoDeluxe
(not real thrilled with it, but that's what I have to work with at the
moment). I'm trying to get my scanned photos to a reasonable(?) KB
size/dimension, but I'm not sure how to tell what the actual size of the file
is. In PD there is an option to set the dimensions, which I've been adjusting
in pixels. It will then tell me the size of the file. Example: picture
dimensions 260 x 350 (pixels) at 75 pixels/inch gives a file size of 267 KB.
However, when I look at the properties of the picture when its displayed on
my page, the file size says 82 KB. Obviously, I'm missing something.......
(btw.....these pics are for a personal page since I'm still figuring all this
out)
Also, I've read that there is a "limit" to what is an acceptable size for a
graphic file on the web, but I don't remember what it is...... what would it
be?
I have many other questions, but these are the most pressing at the moment!
