Chris,
The problem is with the images themselves
using netscape go to:

http://www.azstarnet.com/~wings/dave1.gif
Then go to:
http://www.azstarnet.com/~wings/dave.gif

Now, using the back and forward arrows, look at the difference between the
two images.

There are two possible reasons for the differences:

1) different source images entirely.. check your high-res sources for
   differences.. in Photoshop (or PSP5) make the two images separate
   layers of the same document.. hide the top layer and undhide it
   repeatedly to spot any differences

2) If the source images are identical, then the problem is almost
   positively with the dithereing of the two gifs.  Be sure that they are
   both using the same exact palette (if you use different palettes, the
   images will dither differently, and that difference will definately
   show in the final version.)
