Online Help Technical Writer 

Job Description

Position: Technical Writer

Primary Responsibilities:

* Write online help (HTML) for end users and application 
administrators (parallel hardcopy documentation also may be required) 
* Document and prepare end-user installation guides, user's guides, 
technical reference manuals, installation and upgrade documents, and API 
manuals. 
* Perform online editing, formatting, and troubleshooting. 
* Help establish and enforce editorial and design standards, and serve 
as a resource. 
* Ensure accurate, timely delivery of documentation. 
* Produce quality-based, multiple projects in a deadline-driven 
organization 
* Communicate effectively with software engineering, quality assurance 
engineering and product marketing staff. 
* Seek out creative solutions to information delivery problems to help 
make our products the most effective, easiest-to-use in the industry. 

Requirements:

* BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing or English 
preferred. 
* Minimum of two to three years experience developing online help and 
hardcopy (documentation in MS Word or FrameMaker) for software products. 
* Advanced working knowledge of HTML 4.0 coding and editors required 
* Experience writing online and paper documentation for client/server 
software products. 
* Intermediate knowledge of FrameMaker (or MS Word), and Windows NT. 
Experience with RoboHelp Classic and RoboHelp HTML a definite plus. 
* Knowledge of client/server applications, relational database tools, 
and APIs a plus 
* Knowledge of sales force automation (SFA) applications desirable

U.S. citizenship is not mandatory, but you must have the 
necessary work permission. We do not sponsor outside visas.

The applicant should be onsite. Our location is in Mt. View, easily
accessible via 101.
