ColdFusion Engineer, East Bay, Emeryville, CA

Are you dreaming of a rewarding job that gives you time to have a life, too?
Visualize working with a fun, eclectic group of individuals who are
passionate about books, at a venture-funded startup with a rock solid
business plan, multimillion-dollar revenues, and a planned expansion to
Europe.

Want an excellent salary? How about great stock options? Or non-traditional
work hours? (Yes, you can have a life!) Or maybe you're yearning to work in
a sunny East Bay location that is "BART-able", "train-able", "bus-able", or
"car-able" (with free parking!). Sound good? If you believe the Internet is
the future, then read on...

Alibris makes it easy to locate books you thought you'd never find,
including out-of-print and rare titles, as well as books from specialty and
international press. Using the Internet, Alibris enables online booksellers,
traditional offline book retailers, libraries, and consumers to more
efficiently purchase hard-to-find books.

Involved in maintaining and enhancing our existing environment as well as
participating in the new development of the next generation product.
Working in a very cross-functional environment between various company
functions whose needs are served by the web site.

engineering efforts.

Required:
Demonstrated ColdFusion expertise, specifically ColdFusion 3.1 or 4.0
development experience (preferably 2+ years), knowledge of stored procedures
ideally possessing advanced CF skills such as WDDX (XML) and Spectra.
3+ years experience with administration of web site on Unix or NT platforms
Solid understanding of SQL and Relational databases.
Working knowledge of web development languages such as HTML, CGI, Perl,
JavaScript, and XML.

Past "full life-cycle" development experience with VB, C++, or Java highly
desired.

Must be able to solve difficult programming problems
Able to manage, prioritize a diverse range of simultaneous activities
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field preferred.
