RESEARCH WEB SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
American Museum of Natural History

Requirements: 1 year experience in database design, implementation, and
administration.  Knowledge of SQL, CGI, HTML and UNIX shell commands.
Experience in Apache web server administration, Msql or MySQL
administration, C and Perl, Python,
or Java highly desirable.  Good inter-personal skills and the ability to
handle multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Background in science
highly desired.

Duties: Technical administration of AMNH Research web site, including
advising content developers throughout the Museum research departments,
assisting and tutoring in transfer of content to the server, and assuring
the security of CGI
programs. Setup and configuration of web server and database server
programs. Advising researchers throughout the Museum on
PC-based database purchase, use, and development with regard to eventual web
dissemination of data.  Design, development, and implementation of
UNIX-based databases for web dissemination of data for selected Museum
clients.

We can offer about $50,000 a year.  It is a 35 hour work week, relaxed work
environment, many benefits, 3 weeks vacation 3 week sick time (and they
accrue),b non-profit environment.

Job Description:

Network Administration backgrounds. The role of the Systems Administrator

network (including installation of hardware and software, overseeing various
servers such as SMTP/POP and Cold Fusion Enterprise, upgrades, security
management, content planning and management, IT Network planning,
implementation & maintenance, etc.).

Requirements:
=> Suitable candidates will have an extensive background in, ISS, MS
Exchange
=> 5.5, backup programs, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Cold Fusion
Administration, and Oracle.

time-tables
=> 2 + years of "cradle to grave" IT project or software product management
experience.
=> BA required, MBA preferred

Compensation Range

=> 80-100k (DOE) + Options + Benefits
