Hi all....

I have a client that has 5 Video Rental stores that wishes to set up a
mobile delivery service for his customers via the web ...

As I see it ....something like this would happen...

Customer goes to web page and decides on the movie/movies to be ordered
(which will come from a static list updated weekly) via a form.

they submit the order which causes a cgi script to produce a html page which
is not accessable without a password that contains that and other orders
that have been submitted.

All five stores are continuously on-line wiith that page selected which
refreshes itself every one or two minutes

the delivery driver/drivers will go to the store nearest to their last drop
to see what new orders have been placed and which store/s the movie/s are
present in and has the ability to action the order (ie flag the order to say
it has been done)

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with a similar system anywhere
or if any "Gurus" out there would be prepared to help me design such a
system (obviously for money....or a big kiss <smile>) . I realise that the
ideal for this guy would be to have the five stores linked via his normal
computer rental system so that all things are updated simultaneously
including the web page but I dont think that the THOUSANDS that would cost
could be justified and this partially manual system could be achieved pretty
cost effectively.
