Thanks to everyone who replied with their great advice! As it stands now I
stumbled across a way to print from a flash movie that is stopped just prior
to the coupon being displayed. Since you can control by use of labels which
frames of a flash movie get printed I am able to do this without actually
displaying the coupon on the screen - it just gets sent to the printer from
a hidden, print enabled frame. I have also disabled the right-click menu so
all frames of the flash movie can't be printed out, nor can the movie be
imported.
I still have to integrate a system to log the number of times a coupon is
printed which shouldn't be a big deal but I see I still have a problem when
the print dialog comes up. The user can print out any number of copies so I
suppose the coupon could have the user's name printed on it with a short
expiry date to prevent mass use. Likely the student would have to show his
or her student card in order to redeem them.
