Yes, if u have IE4 and above installed, you can manipulate the local file
system. However the user will get an alert saying that an unsafe script is
trying to run. Only if the user okays the action the script runs.


BTW, through Netscape's JavaScript (Server_Side) file access through read()
& write() I think, has been available for ages. But on NT systems with IIS
you will use the FSO.

ASP programs also make use of the FSO since it gives a common interface over
most MS programming langs.
