Hi Ruth:
I ran into a similar problem with fader 3.0
(http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/column27/index.html) and another
javascript application (not a menu). What I did was find a different java
fader application that worked just right. The url for it was:
http://appletlib.tripod.com/fadingnews.html . I found it pretty
straightforward to use. You can use the applets freely to enhance web pages
(commerical or non-commerical). If you wish to remove the warning
("Unregistered version of FadingNews Java applet"), you may register the
applet for a nominal cost (29USD). The warning only appears on the
scrolling bar when you place the mouse over it and is not obtrusive.
You can, however, have both the menu and a fader written by the same author
which will work when used on the same page. See
http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/column25/addendum1/fdr201both.html . You
will have to dig around for the hier menu and the latest version of the
fader. Good luck.
