Let's make some noise.
I have a three part message:
1. PHP Objects/PHP Servlets (!). I was hanging around
java.sun.com recently and came across this link:
http://www.geocities.com/primacprim/helloworld2001/php.html
which uses PHP in an OO sense. Anyone else doing this? I dig
it, though I haven't tried it yet.
2. Calling Perl from PHP: Anyone have examples of embedding
Perl natively in PHP, or is this possible?
3. PHP and IIS. I designed an ecommerce site recently on
PHP/Apache/Linux (with a little bit of Perl hooked in), and the
client said "find an NT host with IIS, we can install it there".
I told him that there were some intrinsic differences which would
not make it seamless, like the nuances of ASP (which equals
consulting $'s); merely running PHP as a language in ASP is not a
mirror of running a PHP application on top of Apache.
Any information of interest on PHP/IIS sites vs. PHP/non-IIS
sites? Like, would
<?PHP print "<h1>Hello World</h1>"; ?>
work? How about all of the database access in PHP?
