Where is the source for this script? I need one, but just hadn't started
looking and once I have a copy of what you are looking at, I am sure I
figure it out.

Subject: Problems calling a CGI script, please help:
Hi:
I've downloaded a script from the web and in the instructions of the
script it says:
************************************************************************
*****
To add a banner, simply add the text <!--#exec
cgi="/cgi-bin/ads/ads.cgi" -->
where you want the banner generated, where /cgi-bin/ads/ads.cgi is the
URL of
ads.cgi without the http:// or domain.
You will also probably have to change the page's extension to .shtml, so
if
the page was named index.html you would change it to index.shtml.
************************************************************************
*****
Well, the problem is that in my server, I can't use the shtml format for
my pages and I really don't understand this, but the cgi folder is in
the port 8000 (I really don't know what does that means) so, I can't
call the script (or at least I haven't been able to call it) if I just
write:
<!--#exec cgi="/cgi-bin/ads/ads1.cgi" -->
I wrote to my Hosting provider and the told me to use the full address
that is:
http://www.freewebs.com:8000/hombredehoy/cgi-bin/ads1.cgi
but if I write:
<!--#exec
cgi="http://www.freewebs.com:8000/hombredehoy/cgi-bin/ads1.cgi" -->
It doesn't work either.
So, how can I call for the script? Is there another different way to do
it, or what am I doing wrong? Please, help me :)
TIA
Antonio R.
