Thanks everyone for your help! I found many scripts and one that looked to
be exactly what I need at
http://www.aroogasoft.com
I cannot get it to run and keep getting errors such as 'No longer
available' . I am sure it is something simple :-). I set the path to perl
and my base URL etc seem to be correct. The permissions seem correct also.
Being so green which books should I purchase to learn Perl/CGI and mySQL? I
bought CGI 101 that won't be in for a few weeks. Any suggestions would be
great! I will need Lady Clairol at the rate I am going.
Thanks again
| Check out www.atomz.com. It is completely managed off-site, but for 12,000
| pages it will cost a good chunk of change per year. I buy it myself for
| 2,500 pages a year and it's worth it in my opinion because I don't have to
| worry about maintaining the index myself. It also indexes PDF files, which
| is a plus.

| I have a site with over 12,000 html pages that I would like to add a
search
| engine to Which would be best? CGI, mySQL or...? It is on a UNIX hosted
| server.
|
| I am looking for something with a low learning curve.
| If I am off topic I apologize.
