I'm working an a site where a specific typeface has
been requested for headlines -- Mona Lisa Recut (ITC
fonts). I've found several sites where it's available
for purchase -- Eyewire and Adobe.
Can anyone share their thoughts or experiences on
this? Are there freeware typefaces or is this
normally a purchased item? Once you have the font,
what type of file or extension is it? I'm working on
a PC with Windows ME (millinium edition) operating
system. Do I take the font and place it in my
c:\windows\font subdirectory or is it placed in the
individual software I'm using, such as Fireworks,
Photoshop, Flash or Freelance.
To have the exact typeface displayed, I'm planning to
create the headlines as images. The person I'm doing
this for uses Netscape 3.0 as the browser because it's
run on an older Macintosh.
Also, how do you normally share copy and / or other
graphics when developing a site when one person is
using a PC and the other person is using a MacIntosh?
The software she uses is Illustrator and Quark.
Whenever I receive files attached to an email, there
is no file extension.
Any input to any one of these questions would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Susan V.
