True.  I'm a dabbler at best, but even I am always trying to find "the 
best IDE for language X." ;-)

For most of the things I play with (C, perl, python, java, WIL) my 
text editor is the best IDE for me.  I'm used to it, it's customizable 
to a tremendous degree, I can work the way I want to.  There's no 
visual component, which may be detrimental especially for building 
applets and windowed java stuff.

I have Kawa installed, because of the way it integrates with the 
JDK.  It's got some neat features, but I seem to have an 
unwillingness to learn all of the intricate details of it, since I've 
already done that with Boxer 99.
