I'd like to thank all those that replied to my original question 
concerning the use of require. It was a dumb mistake on my part, 
but the dumbest ones are usually the easiest to fix. 

 Which leads me to another issue concerning this additional file. 
When the module is tested at the command line, it works fine, and a 
perl -w -c shows only a few minor warnings. Mainly complaints 
about setting internal flags in the LWP and HTTP modules. Variables 
being used only once etc..

 However when I try to install the code into my main routine it 
produces the following error;

Warning: Use of "require" without parens is ambiguous at (eval 3) 
line 1.
Search pattern not terminated at (eval 3) line 1.

 Can someone suggest a way of narrowing this error down further? 
I'd like to fix this, but a pointer to line 1 is probably one of the most 
useless error messages around. Any suggestions would be useful at 
this point. I've even gone as far as inlining the code, which caused 
the same error message.
