Pre-Post concatenation of form values

I have a form on a page that utilizes a SELECT/MULTIPLE tag.  In order to
make things easier for the user, I would like to convert the choices this
tag presents to a series of CHECKBOX tags.  Here's the problem: I cannot
have access to the FORM "Action" target (it's a Lotus Notes kinda' thang) to
modify the Request.Form(s), etc.   I need to concatenate (with comma
separations added appropriately) all the values checked in the numerous
CHECKBOXs before it gets posted to the target page.    Any suggestions?
