3. **MEMBER SERVICES**

-- REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS MEMBER SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

Volunteers are needed to be moderators for the Request For Proposals
(RFP) system.

This service will be provided as an accessible and convenient means for
HWG Plus and Institutional members to distribute Requests For Proposals.
RFPs are for contractual or freelance projects only. The RFP service is not a
place for posting resumes or help-wanted advertisements. (We are currently
developing services to meet those needs.)

Contact Damon Zirkler <rfp-manager(at)hwg.org> for more information.

-- MENTOR/APPRENTICE PROGRAM NOTICE

Unfortunately, we have had a problem with the database of applicants
for the mentor/apprentice program and have lost many applications. If you
applied prior to 15 October 1997, please re-submit your application
by going to

     http://www.hwg.org/services/mentor/menap.html

for mentor registration, or

     http://www.hwg.org/services/mentor/apprenap.html

for apprentice registration. We apologize for this inconvenience.
We should have the program completely functional by the end of the year.

You *do not* need to be a paying member to volunteer to be a mentor.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
4. **CALL FOR MARKETING DIRECTOR**

The Guild is looking for an outgoing individual with marketing skills
to be the new Marketing Director. This is a volunteer position. If you
are interested in finding out more, please send e-mail to Joe Cline, Vice
President/Business, at <joe(at)hwg.org>.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
5. **CORRECTION**

It was incorrectly written in the October newsletter that the Mentor/
Apprentice Program is for Plus-level members. The Mentor/Apprentice
Program is for *Value-level members* and higher.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
6. **GOVERNING BOARD OFFICER CHANGE**

Steve Cherrier has stepped down from his position as
Vice President/Business and will remain an active member
of the GB.

Joe Cline was elected as the new VP/Business. Welcome, Joe!
