Here's a thumbnail of our setup: We have several servers in the building.
Most are internal UNIX. One of the UNIX servers is also the mail server for
our entire national corporation. Two are Web servers; an NT that hosts our
intranet, and a Netscape server that hosts our public Web site. Problems
include: unpredictable slowdowns in email delivery (mostly internal), a
mysterious slowdown of all Web work (internal and external) that occurs late
every day, unexplained Web connectivity problems at sporadic intervals
(including pages requested and delivered internally). Occasionally our NT
(IIS) will deliver a version of a Web page that I'm sure I changed weeks
ago, but that may be a cache problem. After intense scrutiny of individual
machines, we now suspect the network itself. I'm not a network guy; I'm just
collecting data for Hardware. Thanks.
