frontpage extensions

I am trying to install a test server to play with frontpage extensions under
apache.  I downloaded the stuff needed(I think).  I am working with
mod_frontpage 1.5.1 at the moment.  Has anyone else here made it work under
Linux?  I am working with RH 7.1 and Apache 1.3.24.

Or does anyone else have some suggestions for me to prevent further head
banging?  I am looking for a decent open source way to do this under Linux
and then trial it with some web developers.
