That's OK.  I thought maybe somebody here might recognize
the problem just from my description and be able to share
what they might already know.  I really wasn't expecting
people to poke at the thing but it does my heart good to
know there are people out there willing to give it a shot...

Since the person's browser knew how to render the
page when he first encountered it but not when he Back-ed
into it (using browser's Back button), I'm chalking this
up to a browser problem and will ask the guy to upgrade
even tho' I still don't know which version he's using.
But since it works for me and you with IE5 and NN4.7,
I'm thinkin' it's safe to say he's not using either of
these....
