Email from Access

Anyone ever tried to generate an email address list from Access? We have a 
client that wants to automatically select records, generate a list of email 
addresses, and then create a result report. Is anyone aware of an ActiveX 
control, perhaps, that will interface with a POP3 or IMAP server? I hate to 
be forced into Exchange,  .. but might consider that if there are no other 
options.

I guess the worst case would be to create a file of email addresses, .. but 
the catch would be to parse the sendmail log file for results.
