Hi,

Many thanks for the comments. They were varied, and interesting.

Solutions suggested are:

Software routers from:
WinGate
MidPoint
Trumpet

All are more expensive than a basic hardware router, though some of the=20
"lite" or 30-day evaluations are worth looking at.

Hardware routers from:
BayNetworks/NetGear
WebRamp
Umax

Vary from GP=A3150 (V.90 analogue) to GP=A3200 (128k ISDN), with 10Mbit=20
ethernet link. Though extra hardware it's comparable to the software=20
solutions, and scales better.

Hybrid routers:
old 386/486 with Linux kernel and software router

Cheapest, and possibly the most interesting solution. I don't have an old=20
computer lying about, or the space for one really, but an interesting=
 solution.

My current solution (zero cost):

HTTP (junkbusting) proxy on one machine, and simple HTTP port 80 access to=
=20
the secondary computer.

Depending on how ADSL/ISDN rolls out in the near future I may get a=20
hardware router in then end.

Thanks again.
