netscape enterprise 3.6 error question

we're running netscape enterprise 3.6 on solaris and have been getting a
bunch of the following errors (some info has been changed to protect the
innocent):
[06/Nov/2001:10:00:49] warning (15486): for host 111.11.11.11 trying to GET
/ps/test/frame1.htm, start-http-response reports: write failed (Broken pipe)

the error comes up for a lot of pages, not just the ones shown above. i
understand that a broken pipe message can show up for lots of different
reasons; i mostly concerned about the 'write failed' part. everything
appears to be working ok on the client end of things, as far as i can tell.
i haven't been able to make the error happen.
my concern is: is there something we need to fix/reconfigure in the server?
our error logs are getting huge.
