Re: SOFTWARE V. HTML CODEby "Ray Whiting" <rwhiting(at)bellsouth.net> |

Ronnie.... Ditto what Angie said (such a wise and tactful way with words).... to which I would add: If you are really just beginning, the place to start is by studying the HTML /CSS specifications as promulgated by the WorldWideWeb Consortium at http://www.w3c.org. The reason is that once you know what good HTML/ CSS looks like, you can free yourself from bondage to this or that particular software, can more readily determine if a software package is producing clean code, and you can edit a page in a plain vanilla text editor if you have to. Take advantage of various software trial periods -- most reputable and widely used software has 30-day trial versions so you can determine for yourself what you are comfortable with. My choices are entirely my own, but you asked for recommendations -- the software that I use for my various websites include these that I would recommend for your examination: Dreamweaver2.
