after an extensive examination of the major chat packages we went for
Digichat (digichat.com). It has pretty much all you want except 3). None of
the major packages I looked at had this feature (3 months ago), but Digichat
has an automtic login feature which lets you embed the username in the HTML
that calls the applet. So you could have a dynamic login page that does what
you want, then have that create the automatic login page that calls the
applet. I can expand on this if it is not clear. It's worth noting that I
found Digichat were flexible with their licences.
