A Flash transparency GIF import question

Hey all, this is my first posting since i've been on the ML, n thats like 3
years now? I seemed to never have any questions to ask, until now, i've been
off Flash for awhile and recently back to using it for a job i'm handling,
my question id how the heck do you import a transparent .gif into flash
without the parts that u omit out turn into black?

Mebbe its just me? but i can't seem to get a picture, say in the triangle
shape to come out with its transparency. I use photoshop, change it into
index colour then i de-select the colour i desire. Once i fire up flash,
create a symbol and import the picture, the parts that i omitted out earlier
turn to black.

I'm very curios why this is happening because i recall when i first started
using flash, i did something similar to this, and the transparency came out
just fine. If u ask me to trace bitmap, i can't because its a picture and it
needs to be in photo quality. So if anyone can please help me out here i
would deeply appreciate it.
