Hi, this is my first post to the list and so here it goes...
I'm primarely a graphic designer and I started to designed web sites
in 1995, in the past I never had the need to deal with databases,
untill now... I'm not planning to create or maintain databases, I
will hire someone to do it, but I would like to have an idea what it
takes to create or maintain one, the lingo, stuff like that.
So I have 3 questions which I hope you can help me with,
Fist, would someone set me straight about the difference between what
can be done with CGI and SQL, are they like apples and orages, or
does one need the other, I have no idea I just want some direction...
Second, what books, web sites, classes, programs would you recomend...
Third, are there any programs that can create/maintain data bases for
the web and which are user friendly for "data base idiots" like me...
Thank you for you time and your help.
Ed Minera
