Jay,

Thanks for the comeback on this. I had actually already seen the refs you
forwarded since I've been doing a little more research after I originally
sent my post (BTW, the second ref listed is no longer valid, but the main
page for that mini how-to can be reached at
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/FDU/index.html).

Most of what I have read on browser fonts in Linux browsers so far, and
particularly with respect to Netscape where the small font problem seems
to be most prevalent, centers around providing fixes on linux systems. My
post probably wasn't very clear. What I was aiming for was defining those
font-families and sizes that would adequately display in linux browsers
using their default installation fonts. As I have been learning recently
(being new to the linux desktop world), linux isn't as intuitive as
Windows. It takes awhile to get comfortable in linux and if sites used the
proper font-family attributes in their style sheets that would safely
accomodate default linux browser installations, then linux newbies
wouldn't need to worry about trying to figure out how to solve the browser
readability problems right away. They could tweak those settings later,
but still be able to read web pages without using a magnifying glass as
soon as they have linux up and running. :)

Anyway, I have made some observations on how to improve my stylesheet font
declarations but need to collect my notes on this, so I am not prepared
yet to expound on what I've discovered.

Thanks again on the feedback.

Cheers,
