Removing Auto-Generated Alt Tags

Hi,
I'm new to Style Sheets and what I basically want to do is make all the alt
tags in my project invisible.
The files I'm using are auto-generated by RoboHelp (Help authoring) and take
the file name from the source Word file (eg. 'searching.bmp') and converts
its file name to an alt tag (alt='searching.gif'.) This is a pain cause I
have to delete each alt tag manually. I'd like to simply use a Style Sheet
but I'm not sure of the correct syntax.
I've tried
ALT {VISIBILITY:hidden}
And variations on that but nothing works. I'd appreciate it if you could
help me out.
