Okay, I "think" I fixed the problem on a test page. Could someone please
check this out in a Mac using IE5.1?

This doesn't fix the problem of the js in Opera, but I suspect that's a bug
in the js.

Yes, and I really appreciate the screenshot she sent! it helps me see
what's
going on (though I'll have to "fiddle" to see if I can get it fixed)

The little sitemap link is supposed to be under the menu, for older
browsers
that cannot see the javescript menu. That was my "work-around" to bow to
the
dictates of the director, who wanted the script, and recognize that
there
are people who either don't turn on javascript or have browsers that
cannot
see it.

Yes, I have viewed the pages in Opera 6.05 and they come up fine but if 
the page is refreshed, the menu is gone.

Thanks for checking in Netscape 7. I'm in the process of writing pages
for
php, to dynamically pull pages together (and adding css and xhtml
compliance
to those is a treat...not! lol!) and redoing the navagation so the menus
as
they are will go away.
