Hello,

Would someone explain to me (or point me to an explanation of) the difference between using a linked style sheet and and 
the @import rule?
In the specs at http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS2/cascade.html#at-import it says the @import rule "allows users to import style rules 
from other style sheets," but I'm not clear what is the meaning or intent of this. Other than which browsers recognize it, what's the 
difference? When would I use one rather than the other? If I was writing for solely newer browsers that recognize @import, would I 
have any reason to use a linked style sheet?
Is there a place in the w3 specs that explains even what the '@' symbol signifies?
