I need help with a perl question and was wondering if anyone could help me.
I am teaching myself perl and have run into a problem I don't know how to
fix.
I've a database of 100+ names and email addresses separated into
last|first|email. I want to read the alphabetized data into a table 3
columns wide. Well, I can read the database and create the table, but the
same info appears in each cell across the row. To see what I mean go to
http://bikescbc.com/membs/members2.shtml.
Is there some kind of "next" function in perl that will force the next
record to read into my code rather than the same record looping through 3
times? The code can be seen at http://bikescbc.com/membs/membperl.htm. The
browser renders some of the html, so to see complete code look at view
source. FYI, the table tags are in html calling the cgi.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
TIA
