How to get Web-Safe fonts

Hi,

  Is there a way of getting "Web safe fonts"? I've an HTML page which I want
to display the list of fonts, their style and sizes. The user visiting this
page can choose the font from this UI. I'll be using this information to
customize the web pages for the respective user for future accesses.

  So how should I go about populating the fonts list with only "web safe
fonts"? Do I have to hardcode some common fonts in the page? And for a given
font what is the "web safe" styles and sizes?

  Any help will be greatly appreciated!
